I held the position of manager of the sculpting dept. which allowed me to train other sculptors as well as supervise and personally work on a great variety of projects such as garden ornaments, home decor, toys for all ages, Christmas ornaments, collector plates and figurines, and licensed characters from television and motion pictures including Star Wars, Star Trek, Batman, Superman, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Independence Day, Jurassic Park I and II, Garfield, Ren and Stimpy, Betty Boop, The Wizard of Oz, Warner Bros. Cartoon Characters, Disney Characters, The Andy Griffith Show, etc.

F. J. Barnum and Associates

At this previous incarnation of Barnum models, before owner Frances Barnum retired and the company relocated, I held the position of apprentice sculptor and mold maker. I mastered the basics and gained an appreciation of proper sculptural technique for a variety of molding processes from flexible silicon molds to steel injection molds. I quickly progressed and achieved the position of sculpting manager by 1991.

Skills

Proficiency in a variety of sculptural media including Super Sculpey, Casteline wax, plasticene, terra-cotta, plaster, and hard pink toy wax. I am also proficient in mold making and casting techniques including latex jacket molds, flexible silicon and polyurethane molds, plaster piece and waste molds, polyurethane and plaster casting. I specialize in the accurate reproduction of licensed characters and human likenesses with an attention to detail . I am capable of designing a project from conception to completion and can provide detailed multiview drawings prior to sculpting. I can provide minor electronic circuitry for lights, sound, etc. for prototypes prior to production engineering. I intend in the near future to add painting of samples to my services.
